Laura Morgan Stroup, age 27, of Lawrence, KS formerly of Hays, KS passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 in Lawrence.

She was born September 16, 1988 in Hays to Anthony D. Stroup and Marilyn M. (Edwards) Engel. She was a 2007 graduate of Hays High School where she was active in volleyball and softball and was a National DECA winner.

After graduation, she attended Biola University, La Mirada, Calif., and Fort Hays State University majoring in marketing.

She is survived by her father, Anthony Stroup and wife Marla of Hays; her mother, Marilyn Engel and husband Bruce of Hays; three brothers, Lee Stroup of Kansas City, MO, Landon Stroup of Breckenridge, CO and Layton Stroup of Hays; a step brother, Bradley Pendergast of Hays; three step sisters, Sarah Mohr of Norcatur, KS, Rachel Pendergast of Hays and Katelyn Engel of Hays; grandmothers, Mary Jo Stroup and Neva Edwards both of Hays.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Lyle Stroup and Clifford Edwards.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Celebration Community Church in Hays. Private family burial will follow in St. Joseph cemetery, Hays.

Visitation will be Tuesday 6 PM – 8 PM at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601. Wednesday visitation will be 10 AM until service time at the church.

Memorial contributions in memory of Laura are suggested to the Cross Current Student Ministry at Celebration Community Church.
