First and foremost, if you have ever supported the United Way of Ellis County, Thank you! However, we desperately need help to reach our goal this year. Last year our campaign fell short by 9.3% ($45,000) and projections for this year show the same deficit. Last year there were 2300 people turned away for services because of the shortfall. Despite having to turn people away for services, did you know the 15 partner agencies provided over 17,000 services last year? The 15 partner agencies really need our help more than ever. We hope you consider making a donation for our 2015 campaign, and here’s why:
By giving to the United Way you will be supporting 15 agencies that are the heart and soul of human services in Ellis County.
You are making Ellis County a much better place to live. Just imagine our county without some or all of the great agencies we support. In fact, the United Way is one of the largest non-governmental funder for most of the agencies we support.
Receiving funding from the United Way allows many of our partner agencies to leverage additional dollars from private and government grants, meaning every dollar you donate has the potential to bring in two, three, four or more dollars from outside sources.
As always, there are people in our community who need assistance – our neighbors, friends and even family members – whether it’s for healthcare, shelter, food, or childcare, our agencies help meet these community needs.
We do not have large corporate headquarters located here that can make substantial donations. In other words, it is mostly up to small businesses and individuals to come together to help us reach our goal.
We are asking for you to please help the United Way of Ellis County and the 15 partner agencies. Please consider giving, or even giving a second time for this campaign. Please mail donations or stop by our offices at 205 E. 7th Street, Suite 106. Donations can also be processed through the “Donate” button at our website www.liveunited.us.
