In an effort to raise awareness of the new biking routes and markings in Hays the City published a video this week explaining the bike paths and other safety measures bikers can use to remain safe when using city streets.
The Bike Hays project was completed over the summer through the Kansas Department of Transportation, who designed the project.
The project was controversial in Hays in both its implementation and design causing the City Commission to address the program in June.
Overall cost for the project was around $1 million, with Hays paying slightly over $400,000.
