TMP Boys Lose at Hoisington

For the third straight game the boys from Thomas More Prep – Marian were held to under 40 points, and it results in their third straight loss. Hoisington knocks off the Monarchs 45-35 Thursday evening at the Activity Center in Hoisington.

TMP trailed by 11 in the third quarter but was able to trim it to six going into the fourth, down 32-26, but the Cardinals score the first five points of the fourth quarter to seize back the momentum.

Hoisington’s combination of the 6’8” Cody Stetler inside, and guard Derrick Kaiser from outside was too much for TMP in the second half.  Stetler ended up with a double-double, 18 points and 10 rebounds while Kaiser put in 17 points.

TMP was led in scoring by senior Nick Hammeke who finished with nine points on three 3-pointers.

The Monarchs fall to 7-6 on the season, and now are tied with Hoisington in the league battle at 2-1 in the MCAA.
