Winds will rapidly increase by mid to late morning as a strong cold front moves south through western Kansas.

By late morning, winds are expected to range 30 to 40 mph with these wind speeds expected to last through most of the afternoon. Occasional wind gusts around 55 mph can be expected as well, and this will promote some blowing dust over open areas at times.

The weather for this weekend is expected to be tranquil with temperatures warming into the mid to upper 50s by Sunday.
