Game 1:  TMP 6, Dodge City 2

TMP opened up their 2016 season in winning fashion on Tuesday.  Alison Helget struck out 10 Dodge City Lady Demons in a complete game victory in Game 1 of a doubleheader at TMP Field.  She allowed four hits and two earned runs while walking two and hitting one batter.

The Lady Monarchs trailed 1-0 going into the bottom of the third inning.  After tying the game TMP got an 2 RBI double from Anna Gottschalk to give them the lead for good.  Katelyn Zimmerman added a run scoring double in the fifth to help pad the lead.

Game 2:  TMP 10, Dodge City 3

TMP trailed 3-2 going into the bottom of the sixth inning in Game 2 Tuesday night.  The Lady Monarchs would proceed to bat 12 and score eight runs in the inning to secure the win.  Junior Taryn Rupp broke a 3-3 tie open with a 2 RBI single and TMP would add five more runs after that.

Bailey Lacy pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts.  TMP had some impressive performances at the plate in the doubleheader.  Helget went 3-6 and Zimmerman went 4-8 with a pair of doubles.  TMP will play a doubleheader in Garden City on Thursday.
