Monarch softball swept by Garden City

GARDEN CITY, Kan. – The TMP-Marian softball team committed nine errors and were held to four hits as they suffered a pair of shutouts Thursday in Garden City, 6-0 and 3-0 to fall to 2-2 on the season.

TMP-Marian was held to one hit in the first game, an Anna Gottschalk single in the fourth. They had six errors in the contest which resulted in five unearned runs.

Alison Helget allowed all six runs, only one earned, on four hits.

The Buffs struck for two in the first then put the game away with three in the fifth.

The Monarchs had three single in the second game but committed three errors. Bailey Lacey allowed one earned run on four hits while striking out six and walking none.

The Monarchs are back at home Tuesday against Sylvan Grove and Plainville.
