
The Fort Hays State Tigers hit their first seven shots of the game including three 3-pointers, building an early 10 point lead then went on a 16-0 run to build a 22-point lead early in the second half and defeat Truman State 76-57 Wednesday night at Gross Coliseum.
Truman pulled to within six with just under five minutes to play in the first half, but the Tigers close the half on a 10-0 run to lead 36-20 at the break, holding them scoreless for almost seven minutes.
FHSU (15-6, 9-6 MIAA) shot 58-percent in the second half and led by as many as 29 in the second half.
Omar McDade led five Tigers in double-figures with 16 points on 4-of-6 3-point shooting. Simmons had 15 points and 11 rebounds, Moses Dayee hit four 3’s and scored 14, Kendrick Morse 12 and Karron McKenzie 10.
