HHS baseball swept at Liberal

LIBERAL, Kan. – A rough day for the Hays High baseball team who gets swept in Liberal. The Redskins scored 12 runs in the third inning to win the opener 16-1 in a game called after four innings by run-rule.

Hays scored four in the top of the fifth to break a 6-6 tie in the second game but the Redskins answered with six on the bottom of the inning and won 12-11.

Marcus Altman allowed 13 runs, 11 earned on 10 hits in 2 2/3 innings and takes the loss in the first game. He had two of the Indians three hits and drove in their only run.

Jarett Pfannenstiel gives up nine runs on 11 hits over 4 1/3 innings and takes the loss in game two. Dalton Stout and Connor Rule both had three hits with Rule, Altman, Braydon Delzeit and Jared Haynes all driving in two runs.

The 11-7 Indians wrap up their regular season at home tomorrow with a makeup doubleheader against Garden City.
