SHAWNEE COUNTY – A Kansas woman was injured in an accident just after 1p.m. on Thursday in Shawnee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Mariela V. Clarke, 38, Topeka, was eastbound on U.S. 24.

The driver took the exit ramp for southbound U.S. 75, and lost control of the vehicle. It left the roadway and overturned.

Clarke was transported to Stormont Vail.

She was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
