Another summer shower appeared on the horizon Saturday, offering up more than 2 inches of rain to portions of Hays.
There was more than 2.25 inches in rain gauges in the northwest part of the city, while the southeast areas of Hays received about an inch less.
Victoria reported 1.17 inches, while Ellis saw reports of 0.21 to 0.4 inches. North of Hays, there was a report of 1.09 inches near Catharine.
Most of eastern Russell County received between a quarter- and half-inch of rain, although there was a report of 2.12 inches in the western portion of the county. Southwest Trego County also had a report in excess of 2 inches of precipitation.
Chances for rain continue Sunday, with strong “microburst” winds and small hail possible.
