McPHERSON, Kan. – The Hays Eagle Sr. American Legion baseball team grabbed the early lead but couldn’t hold on and lost 5-3 to McPherson Sunday morning in bracket play at the McPherson tournament.

Hays lead 3-2 after three innings but McPherson took advantage of two errors and scored two runs in the fourth inning to take the lead then added an insurance run in the seventh.

Ricky Hockett allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits and takes the loss.

Dalton Stout had three hits and drove in a run.

The Eagles go 2-2 in the tournament and are now 12-7 overall.
