
The Fort Hays State Lady Tigers shoot 53-percent in the second half including 5-of-7 from 3-point range to knock off Southwest Baptist 78-71 Thursday night for their first ever win at the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
The Bearcats closed the first half on a 7-2 run to tie the game 28-28 at the half. SBU scored the first four points of the second half to go up four, but the Tigers answer with seven straight for a 37-34 advantage.
Up by one, FHSU used a 13-3 run capped by a Traci Keyser 3-pointer to go up 11 with 9:55 to play.
Kaiameka Brown led five Tigers in double-figures with 13 points, hitting 6-of-8 free throws. Traci Keyser was 2-for-2 from beyond the arc and scored 12, all in the second half. Kate Lehman recorded her seventh double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Kate Edwards and Kimber Wieser both add 10.
The Tigers have won three straight and improve to 18-7 and 10-7 in the MIAA.
