A couple of early morning storms moved through Hays Friday.

The official amount of rain as measured at the K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town was 1.34 inches.

The Eagle Media Center received 0.92.  Catherine reported 0.58.  Other areas of Ellis County saw as much as 2.4 inches of rain.

It was the first moisture reported for the month of August in Hays. Rainfall for the year was at 20.67 inches Friday morning.

Thursday’s high in Hays was 98 degrees. Cooler temperatures and more rain is in the forecast through Monday.
