The Hays Utilities Department will be flushing the one million gallon water tower near Sternberg Museum tonight, Wed., Aug., 17, beginning at 10:00 p.m.

There will be water on the street in the 2700 block of Canterbury Drive. A small amount of water may be released this afternoon.

This will not affect water usage.

Utilities crews will also be flushing fire hydrants tonight in the 2400 block of Oak St. as well.

This is being done as part of routine preventative maintenance on the water tower and the distribution lines. Periodic flushing is necessary to maintain water quality.

The city of Hays regrets any inconvenience this may cause to the public. If you have any questions please contact the Utilities Department at (785) 628-7380.
