ELLSWORTH COUNTY – A Kansa man was injured in an accident just before 11p.m. on Thursday in Ellsworth County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Chevy Camaro driven by Gordon R. Haight, 58, Topeka, was being pursued by KHP troopers southbound on Kansas 14 at 10th Street in Ellsworth.

The vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree.

Haight was transported to the hospital in Ellsworth.

He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.

Additional details on what prompted the chase was not released early Friday.
