At around 2 p.m. Friday a traffic accident was blocking northbound traffic on the 2500 block of Vine in Hays.

Traffic at the time was backed up for several blocks.

Evidence at the scene suggests a late-model gray Pontiac passenger vehicle braked suddenly, causing a red mini van to collide with the rear of the Pontiac. A late-model white suburban then collided with the rear of the mini van.

There were no injuries at the scene, and traffic flow resumed around 2:2o p.m.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
