HAYS – The Hays High boys soccer rebounded from their season opening loss with a 10-0 mercy rule win over the Wichita Classic Saints Thursday. The contest was called in the 61st minute of the second half over.
Sophomore Tradgon McCrae scored three goals and had one assist, junior Zach Wagner added two goals and three assists, senior Michael Reyes had two goals, sophomore Jacob Maska had a goal and two assists, junior Erik Kruetzer had a goal, Matt Goodale had a goal and Will Martin added an assist.
Goalkeeper Conner Staab had one 1 save on the day and recorded his first shutout.
“It was a true team effort with better ball movement” said head coach Jim Maska.
HHS is back in action on Monday against Derby in the first round of the Wichita South Titan Classic at 1:00 p.m. at the Wichita South HS East field.
