CHASE COUNTY – A Kansas man died in an accident just after 1:30p.m. on Wednesday in Chase County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Dodge Ram driven by William T. Lamey, 72, Elmdale, was westbound on U.S. 50 one mile west of U Road.

The pickup went left of center and struck a semi head-on.

Lamey was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to First Coroner Kansas City.

The semi driver Gilberto Antonio Cisneros, 38, Emporia, was taken to Newman Memorial Hospital in Emporia, then flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

The drivers were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
