It was a hot Halloween in Hays.

According to official statistics from the K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town, yesterday’s high temp of 92° broke the record of 86° set in both 1938 and 1950.

Russell also set a new record high for Oct. 31 of 87 degrees. The previous record was 85 degrees in 1950.
