HARVEY COUNTY – Law enforcement authorities in Saline County are investigating a vehicle theft.

Just after 8 a.m. on Saturday, a 42-year-old Salina man left his 2012 Ford Fusion running while he entered a convenience store at 657 Fairdale in Salina, according to Police Captain Mike Sweeney.

When he came out of the store, the car was gone.

Later Saturday afternoon deputies spotted the car in Harvey County and began a chase.

The chase ended when the car traveled into a creek.

The Fusion is valued at $15,000.

The suspect is in the Harvey County Jail awaiting charges. Details on the suspect were not released on Monday afternoon.
