Neal A. Petrie, age 87, of Oakley, died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the Colby Health and Rehab Center, Colby.

He was born on September 1, 1929 in Pratt, KS to Samuel David Petrie and Clara Francis (Gessley) Petrie. Neal married Retha Loree Roberts on November 12, 1949 in Oakley. He was a Soil Conservation Service Technician and farmer. Neal enjoyed hunting and fishing, farming, and was an arborist.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother Stanley, and two sisters, Bernice Dickinson and Marian Machtan.

Survivors include his wife Retha of the home, son Gary Petrie and wife Cindy of Everett, PA, daughter, Janis Petrie of Bandon, OR, and granddaughter, Katelyn Dibert and husband Derek of Bedford, PA.

Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley, with Pastor Bob Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Oakley Cemetery.
