RENO COUNTY— After Wednesday preliminary hearing, a Kansas man will face trial for two counts of aggravated assault and criminal threat.

Police say on June 25, Benito Montalbo, 30, got into a confrontation with two individuals after one of them allegedly told him to slow down as he was driving by in Nickerson.

Montalbo allegedly pulled a knife and threatened others with it. He’s also alleged to have threatened to come back later with a gun.

He’s been on corrections for drug-related charges, as well as driving while suspended.

He is scheduled for arraignment on the charges next week.
