DONIPHAN COUNTY – Law enforcement authorities in northeast Kansas are investigating a suspect for a number of hunting violations.
On Friday night, Game Wardens seized a hunter’s rifle in Doniphan County, according to a social media report.
The suspect faces charges including Criminal Hunting (hunting on land without permission), taking deer after legal shooting hours, illegal use of artificial light (using headlights to illuminate deer).
The tenant of the land, who gave Game Wardens permission to patrol their land, drove by during the process to thank the Game Wardens for keeping their land safe and free of one less poacher, according to the Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks and Tourism.
No additional details were released on Saturday.
