Barbara Jane Karlin, 78, Hays, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, in Hays. She was born June 7, 1938, in Utica, N.Y., to Charles and Beatrice (Girvin) Peters. She married Delmar Keil on Sept. 27, 1957. He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1975. She married Omar Karlin on May 16, 1981.

She had worked at the Quick Pantry convenience store in Russell, Hays Sale barn and the ARC thrift shop in Hays. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays. She enjoyed crafts, puzzles and spending holidays especially Christmas with her family.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Curtis Keil and wife, Debra, Garden City, and Dale Kiel, Russell; a daughter, Sheila Keil, Russell; two brothers, Tom Peters, Arizona, and Gary Peters, Wichita; and three grandchildren, David Keil and Drew Keil, both of Kansas City and Owen Keil, Hays.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays; inurnment will be at a later date.
