Margaret L. “Maggie” Sander, 61, of Mifflintown, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at her home.
She was born December 8, 1955, in Russell, Kansas.
She is survived by her husband, James F. “Jim” Sander, whom she married June 9, 1973, one daughter, Michele Rapp and husband, Josh, of McClure, one son, Michael Sander of Ryde, four grandchildren, Edwin J. Sander, Ethan Rapp, Zane Rapp, and Jed Phelan, two brothers and one sister.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Hall, her mother, Betty (Shaw) Hall, her step-mother, Lucille Hall, and two brothers.
Maggie started as a teller at Russell National Bank in Lewistown, was promoted to manager of the Omega Bank branches in Reedsville and in Burnham, and retired as manager at the First National Bank of PA in the Mifflin branch.
She belonged to St. Jude Catholic Church, Mifflintown.
She was a member of the case club at Buddy Boy Winery, Duncannon and enjoyed crafting. She gardened and created a special memorial rose garden for members of her family. Her family was the center of her universe and there was nothing that she wouldn’t do for them. She will be remembered as a generous and loving person.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 2, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 3918 William Penn Highway, Mifflintown with the Rev. William Weary officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the March of Dimes, 3544 N. Progress Ave. #204, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
