The Great British Baking Show returns to SHPTV

SHPTV

BUNKER HILL – Season four of The Great British Baking Show will premiere on Friday, June 16 at 9:00 p.m. on Smoky Hills Public Television. At that time, all 10 episodes of the season will be available for streaming with a Passport membership.

Passport is a member benefit that provides access to an extensive library of PBS programs. These programs can be viewed on-line at any time. This benefit is available for just $5 a month or an annual one-time payment of $60. Along with watching past seasons, through Passport, PBS is making some programs available on-line before their airdate. This was done with the MASTERPIECE program Victoria and now with the newest season of The Great British Baking Show.

The Great British Baking Show follows amateur bakers from diverse backgrounds who tackle culinary trials that increase in difficulty as the competition unfolds. In each episode, challenges come in three categories: a Signature Bake, to test the contestants’ creative flair and baking ability; a Technical Bake, in which challengers receive basic recipes with ingredient lists and minimal instruction; and the Showstopper Bake, designed to display depth of skill and talent. Known as much for its perfect “scrummy” patisseries as for its “soggy bottom” failures, the baking competition will air Friday nights at 9:00 p.m. on Smoky Hills Public Television.

To become a Passport member call 800-337-4788 or go to smokyhillstv.org/support/donate.

Smoky Hills Public Television serves 71 counties in central and western Kansas.
