A Hays woman was taken to the hospital following an accident Tuesday afternoon in Hays.

According to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, just after 1 p.m. a 2002 Chevrolet S10 pickup, driven by Mark Moore, Larned, was traveling east on Eighth Street and collided with a GMC Terrain driven by Shirley Horn, who was traveling west on Eighth near the intersection with Old Highway 40 bypass.

The pickup, according to the sheriff’s office, failed to yield at the intersection, causing the collision.

Horn was transported to Hays Medical Center by Ellis County EMS. Moore and a passenger were not injured.
