The United Way of Ellis County is holding their second annual Community Kickoff with their campaign theme “Heroes in Action”.

This will be held in the East Frontier Park at the south end of Main Street on Sat., August 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

Children (and parents) are encouraged to dress in their favorite superhero costume! The children’s activities will include colorable superhero capes with prizes awarded for capes and costumes at 11:30 a.m.

There will also be opportunity to visit with the United Way Partner Agencies, and first responders from the Sheriff, Police, Fire, EMS and Highway Patrol.

Additional activities include superhero selfies with cutouts provided by Eagle Communications, drinks provided by McDonald’s, and children can ride the Nex-Tech Express.
