HHS Volleyball rolls in Dodge

DODGE CITY, Kan-The Hays High Lady Indian volleyball team had little trouble as they defeated Sublette, Dodge City and Lakin on Thursday in Dodge City. The Lady Indians opened with a straight set romp of Sublette, winning in impressive fashion by scores of 25-10 and 25-13. Tasiah Nunnery led the team with 10 kills, Brooklyn Schaffer 4 aces, Hannah McGuire 7 assists, Kallie Leiker 11 digs and Macee Altman 8 block assists.

In their second match of the day Hays High took care of Western Athletic Conference foe Dodge City in straight sets. The Lady Indians won 25-20 and 25-16. Nunnery again led the way in kills with 10, McGuire with 13 assists, Leiker 20 digs and Jaycee Dale with 8 block assists.

Hays faced off with Lakin in the final match of the day and it took them three sets to take care of business. The Lady Indians dominated the first set winning 25-16. The Lady Broncs battled back in the second set and picked up the 26-24 victory. In the third set Hays was trailing 15-12 and went on a 13-5 run to win the set 25-20 and win the match two sets to one. Nunnery led the way with 14 kills and 18 digs, McGuire with 18 assists and 3 aces and Dale with 15 block assists.

Hays High improves to 5-1 on the season with the three wins. They will be off until next Thursday when they host a quadrangular featuring Garden City, Ulysses and Pratt.
