A new facility is opening in Hays to treat seniors with mental health problems. HaysMed Senior Focused Care is a 15-bed inpatient treatment facility located in the Hadley Center. Program Director Marcie Coffman says some seniors experience depression or anxiety that may be tied in some way to getting older.

Senior Focused Care is expected to open by mid June. The medical director is Dr. James Van Doren, who also is opening Psychiatric Associates for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
