Della Lucille Lamb, age 90, of Oakley, passed away on September 16, 2017 at the Hays Medical Center, Hays. She was born on February 15, 1927, in rural Grinnell, Gove County, Kansas to Ernest and Jennie (King) Walz. She graduated from Oakley High School and married Donald “Don” Lamb on June 25, 1950 in Oakley. She attended beauty school in Salina and operated her own beauty shop in Oakley for ten years. Della and Don raised two children, Diane and Richard, and became very active in school, scouts, and community activities.

Della’s husband, Don, passed away in 2006. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Jennie, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

She is survived by her son, Richard Lamb of Hays, her daughter, Diane Brown and husband Bill, Jr. of Hays, 5 grandchildren, and a great grandson. Also surviving is her sister, Boots (Beulah) Haxton of Scott City.

A memorial service is planned at a future date.
