Phyllis Tesluk, Imaging Department, was recently awarded HaysMed’s quarterly Associate Spirit Award.

The Associate Spirit Award recognizes an outstanding Associate who has gone above and beyond their daily job duties to care for a patient, visitor or Associate at HaysMed, part of The University of Kansas Health System.

Phyllis went above and beyond when a patient’s father had apprehension about a procedure. The patient’s daughter talked to Phyllis about the situation. She assured her that when her dad came in for his injection she would make sure everything was taken care of. Phyllis kept watch on the list of patients for the patient’s dad and was there to greet him, do the injection, and followed up with the daughter to make sure they were satisfied.

Tesluk was awarded the traveling “Associate Spirit Stick,” $50 in chamber checks, and her own Associate Spirit Award parking spot for 90 days.
