TMP-M
Thomas More Prep-Marian senior Ian Lenser constructed a “Stations of the Cross” for the TMP-M Grotto. He is an Eagle Scout and performed this service in order to demonstrate his organizational and leadership skills.
Eagle Scout projects must benefit the community with the stipulation that the project not benefit the Boy Scouts or a private business.
With the help of fellow scouts, family and friends, he acquired 14 granite cemetery stones. The stones were engraved using templates. This long process is followed by sand blasting and painting the etched details. The stones were later leveled and cemented into the grotto area.
The actual placement of the stones took several days with funding and planning taking months. The project was completed on Sept. 5. The stones are a beautiful addition to the path leading into the grotto and offer the religion classes a wonderful alternative to completing the “Stations of the Cross,” in the Marian Chapel.
The community is welcome to visit the grotto and enjoy the splendor the stones provide.
