Emily Virginia Roberts

Emily Virginia Roberts, the daughter of Oscar and Caroline (Frank) Frigon, was born October 10, 1927, in Clay Center, Kansas. She passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017, at her residence in Oberlin, Kansas, at the age of 90.

Emily grew up in Longford, Kansas, located near Clay Center, along with two brothers. She graduated from Clay Center Community High School.

On May 2, 1948, Emily married former husband, James Shoff, in Colby, Kansas. They made their home in Colby and were blessed with seven children. Emily later married Lewis Wendel Roberts, on July 22, 1989, in Colby where they lived during their marriage. She also resided in Quinter for a time before moving to Oberlin five years ago.

Emily was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother who worked hard to provide a good home for her family. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a sales person for Stanley Home products for many years. Some of her favorite pastimes included cooking, gardening, dancing and playing cards.

Survivors include her three sons, Jim Shoff of Topeka, Dennis Shoff (Sherida) of Goodland, and Steven Shoff of Oberlin; four daughters, Chris Shoff of Webster Grove, MO; Debbie Moore (Ken) of Austin, TX; Diana Euhus (Kent) of Oberlin, and Jackie Arnitz (Steve) of Webster Grove, MO; fourteen grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frankie Mullin and Gene Frigon; and both former husbands, Jim and Wendel.

Funeral Service: Saturday, November 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with Pastor Shelly Holle officiating

Burial: Baker Township Cemetery, Quinter, KS

Visitation: Friday 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and Saturday after 10:00 a.m.

Memorial Fund: Alzheimer’s Association, in care of the funeral home
