A Relaxing Program…
…featuring introspective, lyrical and spiritual music of the twentieth century, with FHSU faculty soloists Kay Werth, Kristin Pisano and Ben Cline, accompanied by the HSO strings. Enjoy the beautiful melody of Gabriel’s Oboe (the main theme of the 1986 film The Mission) and the bittersweet, jazzy lyricism of Copland’s clarinet concerto (commissioned by Benny Goodman). Float with the serene and meditative voice of the cello in Protecting Veil (inspired by the Russian Orthodox feast commemorating the apparition of Mary). Sink into the warmness of Carter’s Elegy. A lovely way to spend a winter’s evening.
