Linda Kay Terry

Lifelong Goodland, Kansas, resident Linda Kay Terry, 73, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Porter Hospital in Denver, Colorado.

Linda was born October 3, 1944 in Goodland, Kansas to Kenneth and Phyllis (Seaman) Thompson.  She was one of four children.  The family moved to Tucson, Arizona, where Linda graduated from High School in May of 1962.

In 1965, Linda married Samuel L. Franks in Vinton, Iowa, and one daughter Kathy was born.  They later divorced in 1967.  Linda went on and completed one year of Cosmetology School and worked as a Cosmetologist in Iowa until she moved back to Goodland in 1972.  On December 15, 1972, Linda married Leland Terry in Goodland.  To this union, two more daughters, Stacy and Susan were born.  This union also brought in three of Leland’s children; Leland, Jr. Brett and Lucille.

After moving to Goodland, Linda worked for TG&Y, Gibson’s Discount Center, and for Wal-Mart.  She was also a member of the Calvary Gospel Church.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, making crafts and cooking.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two sisters, one grandson Xzaren Colby and one step great grandchild Chance Richards.

She is survived by her three daughters Kathy Franks (Miachel) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Stacy Colby (David) of Benkelman, NE, Susan Sandoval (Raymond) of Burlington, CO; step children Leland Terry, Jr. of Great Bend, KS, Brett Terry of Great Bend, KS, and Lucille Nasworthy (William) of Jacksonville, FL.  She is also survived by one sister Janet Schreiber of Goodland, KS, six grandchildren, four step grandchildren, four great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 10:30 AM MT at the Calvary Gospel Church in Goodland with Pastor Randy Payne officiating.  Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM MT at the Koons-Russell Funeral Home in Goodland.

Memorials may be designated to the Linda Terry Memorial Fund and may be left at the services or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
