First there is Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. Did you know there is a Giving Tuesday? The United Way of Ellis County is at 54% of their goal and needs your help to raise another $207,077 of their $450,000 goal by the end of the year.

Sherry Dryden, Executive Director of the United Way stated, “We still have a long way to go in a short amount of time and desperately need your help.” This year the United Way has opened their application process to any 501c3 agency that provides services in any one of three areas, Education, Health, or Financial Stability. This year 17 agencies have applied for funding with five of them being new. Total funding requested from the 17 agencies is just over $417,000.

The United Way of Ellis County has been continuously looking for new fundraising opportunities and Giving Tuesday is another opportunity. “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone gave an extra $10 or ten percent this year to the United Way to reach our goal?” Dryden stated. “These agencies work behind the scenes helping our family, friends, or coworkers.” “100% of all money raised by the United Way stays in Ellis County.”

The United Way has many opportunities to give on Giving Tuesday. Whiskey Creek is hosting a Dine Out Day from 5p-8p on November 28th. Additionally, you may reach out to give by going online to www.liveunited.us or calling the United Way at 785-628-8281, or drop by their office at 205 East Seventh, Suite 111.
