Downtown Hays Development Corporation invites you to hit The Bricks and participate in the 16th annual FrostFest illuminated parade on Saturday, December 16 at 6 p.m.
“The date is later this year to give our community more chances to win big,” DHDC Executive Director Sara Bloom said. “This holiday season we’ve launched a $2,500 Downtown Dollar Giveaway and the winners will be chosen at 5pm on the 16th before the parade.”
To enter to win the giveaway, the community must shop and dine on the bricks at 19 participating businesses. When they spend the minimum, which varies at each location, they receive a ticket and a chance to win not only the $2,500 Downtown Dollars, but a power recliner, gift cards, jewelry, and more!
This year’s theme is “Saint Nick’s on The Bricks” and parade entries are still being accepted.
“Everyone is welcome to participate in the parade,” Bloom said. “In the past not only have businesses, groups, and schools participated but whole neighborhoods. We’d love to see that again!”
Several prizes are awarded including the Nex-Tech Wireless People’s Choice Award. The winner is chosen via text entries and receives $200 in Chamber Cheques. Each category winner also receives $100 in Chamber Cheques.
As in years past, DHDC is also hosting a Parade Theme Contest for next year’s lighted parade. To submit a parade entry or theme submission, or to see a full list of businesses participating in the giveaway, stop by the Downtown Visitor’s Center, 106 W 12th, or visit www.DowntownHays.com.
