Donna Jean Peters, 80, passed away on December 2, 2017 at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Born on August 27, 1937 in Ellsworth, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Charles Zavesky and Amelia Balin Zavesky.

Donna attended Fort Hays State Teacher’s College and University of Kansas, both in Kansas.

She married Paul E. Peters on June 9, 1956 in Lorraine, Kansas. Over the years they lived in Lawrence, Kansas, Landover Hills, MD, Laurel, MD and finally retiring to Talbot County.

Donna was a member of the Talbot Bible Church and a member of the Auxiliary of Gideons International. Her interests included sewing and gardening and she always looked forward to hosting Bible Study in her home once a week.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Paul E. Peters, her son, Scott P. Peters (Terri Lynn) of Columbia, MD, a niece, Debra Gifford of Modesto, CA and a nephew, Dan Zavesky of Sacramento, CA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Terry Lynn Peters, who died in 1958.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A, 200 S. Harrison St., Easton. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11 AM at the Talbot Bible Church.

Burial will be held at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Lorraine, Kansas.
