HHS Sweeps Larned, Runs Win Streak To Five

The Hays High Indians have won five in-a-row after taking a pair in Larned Tuesday. The Indians (9-1) win the opener 14-0 in five innigns then take game two 12-3. They return to Western Athletic Conference play Friday when they host Garden City at 4pm.

Game 1: Hays High 14, Larned 0, 5 innings
Chase Young pitched a complete game one-hitter, striking out seven while walking only one.

Zach Legleiter hit a grand slam in the first inning and finished with five RBI’s.

Hays scored four in the first, three in the second, two in the third and five in the fourth.

Game 2: Hays High 12, Larned 3
Josh Heifner picks up the win after allowing two unearned runs on five hits over five innings.

Riley Kaus and Trevor Henningson both hits three-run homers. Hayden Hutchison, Jake Sedbrook, Chase Young and Tyler Wooldridge all doubled.

The Indians broke a 1-1 tie, scoring six in the second.
