Lila M. Dreiling

Lila M. Dreiling, age 80, former Hays resident died March 28, 2012, in California where she had been a resident for four years.

Lila was born August 10, 1931, in Pfeifer, Kansas to George A. and Anna M. (Dome) Jacobs. She married Othmar W. Dreiling on September 7, 1949, in Pfeifer. He died June 27, 2004. She was a homemaker raising her seven children. She became a CNA and worked at assisting and caring for people in their homes, a job she truly enjoyed. While in Hays she was secretary to the St. Joseph Religious Education Program. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Third Order of St. Francis, Altar Society Christian Mothers, Perpetual Adorers, and the Legion of Mary, all of Hays.

Survivors include three sons, Allen of Colorado, Les of Kansas, and Greg of California; three daughters, Carol Dreiling and Mona Dreiling, both of California and Maria Bonvillian of Texas; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Dreiling, grandson, Joshua Dreiling, two brothers, Virgil and Irvin Jacobs and a sister, Denise Jacobs.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays. Inurnment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays. A memorial may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church in her name and memory. Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine St. is handling the arrangements.
