The TMP-Marian baseball team extends its win streak to 13 games with a pair of win at Salina Sacred Heart Thursday. The Monarchs win 13-10 and 10-5, scoring 16 of their 23 runs with two outs and nine of those 16 with two outs and nobody on. The Monarchs improve to 13-1 on the season.
Game 1: TMP-Marian 13, Sacred Heart 10
The Monarchs trailed 10-7 in the top of the seventh before rallying for six runs, all with two outs.
Jacob Fouts was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to drive in the first run. Shane Zimmerman then scored on a wild pitch. Dylan Lang tied the game with a infield single. The Monarchs took the lead on a throwing error on the play.
They would add two more runs on RBI singles from Dylan Schumacher and Pierce Schippers.
Game 2: TMP-Marian 10, Sacred Heart 5
The Monarchs scored four in the first and never trailed. They score all four runs with two outs and nobody on.
Shane Zimmerman had five RBI’s including a two-run single in the first and another in TMP’s three-run fourth inning which pushed the lead to 8-2.
