
The Hays High softball team made short work of Salina Central Thrusday, winning 15-0 and 17-2, both in three innings at the Glassman Ballfields. The Indians move to 17-1 with the wins. They close out the regular season at Garden City Tuesday and can wrap up a share of the WAC title and secure the top-seed for their 5A regional with a sweep.
Game 1: Hays 15, Salina Central 0 (3 innings)
Everyone had at least one hit for the Indians. Makenzie Flaska and Haley Wells both hit home runs. Julie Balzer and Hannah Hearld both drove in four.
Hearld allowed just one hit while striking out three for the win and moves to 11-1.
Game 2: Hays High 17, Salina Central 2 (3 innings)
Paige Lunsford hit a 3-run homer to bring her season total to 10. It was the 25 th homer of the season for the Indians.
Makenzie Flaska gets the win in the circle (1-0) allowing one earned run on four hits.
Shea Briggs and Haley Wells both had 4 RBI’s. Hannah Hearld and Lunsford both drove in three.
