The Dodge City A’s score six straight runs from the fourth through seventh innings and beat the Hays Larks 10-4 in Dodge City.
The Larks led 2-0 in the second with RBI singles from Mackenzie Handel and Sean Wilson. Dodge City took the lead in the bottom of the second, scoring three runs. The Larks tie it in the third with Handel’s second RBI single. The A’s regain the lead for good in the fourth, scoring twice. The A’s score two more runs in both the fifth and seventh innings to pull away.
Tory Doerr takes his first loss, giving up five runs on six hits and walking four over three and two-thirds innings.
The Larks fall to 2-2 and 0-1 in the Jayhawk League, while Dodge City continues its hot start at 6-0 and 2-0 in the league.
The Larks are back at home tonight for a non-league game against Salina. First pitch is at 7pm at Larks Park.
