As a leeside trough develops Thursday from eastern Colorado to western Nebraska, south winds will increase to around 20 mph.
Temperatures are expected to rise into the mid 80s over all of southwest Kansas. Precipitation chances increase Friday afternoon and Friday night as a cold front moves south into western Kansas. Showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue through the weekend north of the front with the greatest chances on Saturday with temperatures not getting out of the 50s over much of the area.
Early next week, a drying and warming trend is expected.
