Court Agrees to Diversion on Fight Charge

After a court appearance Tuesday, the only Fort Hays basketball player charged with a felony after an April 7th fight agreed to a diversion and will serve probation. Marcus Yarbrough will serve two years probation for a diversion on reckless aggravated battery. He also pleaded no contest to three misdemeanor counts of battery and will serve one year of probation for those charges. Yarbrough also is ordered to pay restitution and fulfill 150 hours of community service.

The fight, which happened in the 700 block of Ash, has resulted in misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges against four other players.

Three others involved, Justin Hudson, Jesus Pacheco and Carlton Wilkinson, have each been charged with two counts of disorderly conduct. One of those charges is from an earlier altercation with three men from Brewster, who were not charged. Hudson, Pacheco and Wilkinson have court appearances May 22nd.
