Randy L. West

Randy L. West was born July 21, 1959, in Norton, Kansas, the son of Darrel and Marla (Brack) West. He passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas, at the age of 58.

Randy grew up on the family farm seven miles north of Norcatur along with his brother and two sisters. His family were members of Norcatur United Methodist Church. Randy attended Norcatur Grade School and Decatur Community High School in Oberlin, graduating with the Class of 1978. He then received a certificate in welding from Colby Community College.

For over 28 years, Randy worked as a welder for New Age Industrial Corporation in Norton, where he made his home. Although he worked in Norton, he always enjoyed helping on the family farm. He was a nature lover who liked to hunt and fish and spend time outdoors. Randy enjoyed being a member of the Norton Archery Club and the friendships he made with fellow members. He was a past president of the organization.

Randy is survived by his parents, Darrel and Marla West of the Andbe Home in Norton; brother, Thomas West of Sarasota, FL; two sisters, Penny Greiner (Alan) of Kingman and Dana Randolph of Sarasota, FL; two grandchildren; in addition to other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Miranda West Kester.
