HAYS, Kan. – The Hays Monarchs 18U moved to 4-0 with a sweep of Russell at the TMP Field. The Monarchs won 12-0 and 14-6.

They took advantage of 13 walks in the first game including seven straight to open an 11 run second inning. Luke Ruder’s bases loaded double drove in three. Tate Garcia allowed only one hit over four innings for the win.

The Monarchs scored four in the first in the second game then blew it open with a six-run sixth. Chase Werth drove in three while Tate Garcia and Cole Zimmerman both had two RBIs. Werth picked up the win in relief allowing one run on three hits over the final 3 1/3 innings.

The Monarchs 17U team picked up a pair of wins in Kinsley by scores of 7-4 and 12-4 as they improve to 3-1-1 on the season.
