GREAT BEND, Kan. – The Hays Larks pounded out 12 hits and took advantage of five Great Bend errors to beat the Bat Cats 11-6 in their Jayhawk League opener Tuesday night at Al Burns Field.
Jared Martin went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and scored two runs to lead the offensive attack. Kolby Robinson, Ryne Randle and Cole Solomon also had two hits. Matt Munoz drove in two runs.
Tyler Blomster allowed three earned runs on nine hits with five strikeouts and no walks over 5 2/3 innings for the win.
The Larks scored three in the fourth and three in the fifth to take a 10-4 lead.
Hays is off today before hosting the Bat Cats Thursday night at 7 pm at Larks Park.
